| To combine rich design with functionality was the main goal here, plus retaining existing mods were the main aims. Also to make the site work full width on all resolutions, no harsh lines, Italian touches, product orientated and easy to use. At the same time to upgrade from v3.5.4 to v.4.0.18. |

The Work - Step 1
|
| After a comprehensive design consultation a bright, vibrant, colour rich design was approved and integrated and the database and site upgraded from the version 3 to the latest stable v4.0.18. |

The Work - Step 2
|
| The design is based on a non x-cart template which was altered significantly to fit the technical requirements as well as the design considerations including adding the navigation elements. The left hand menu items have been created to be quite upmarket and stronger than a standard X-cart installation. |

Added extras
|
Making the design "stretchy" to fit any size resolution was achieved by adding 2 slider sections to the head.
Keeping the site product focused and functional meant turning some of the standard X-cart features like login into links.
The categories is also different with a main horizontal "Amazon" style nav coupled with a dynamic sub categories menu that remains prominent and easy to use.
All products have the option for gift wrapping and there is an added section in the checkout for adding a gift message.
Recommended products has been changed to "Customers also Bought", which helps customers believe that other people have bought products, thus subconsciously putting them in "buy" mode. Large images added here along with display in 2 columns to reduce scrolling and improve layout.
Advanced Sitemap and DSEFU mods added along with a customised Checkout. |
